How long does it take to complete a portrait?
The timing can vary depending on the size and subject matter, as well as how many other commissions I am undertaking. Currently, you can expect the portrait to be completed in 4 to 6 weeks, but I will advise you at the earliest point if I think this will be different for your portrait. If you do have a specific deadline we can discuss that when you make the commission.
What are the size options?
Portraits come in three different sizes: small (approx. A4), medium (approx. A3) and large (approx. A2). The sizing can vary in order to create the best layout for the image.
How do I take a good photograph?
I have a dedicated page about taking the best photograph here. If you live locally to me (Cumbria, UK) I am happy to discuss including a photo-shoot where I come to you (or you can come to me) to take the picture on my camera.
Does the background of the photo matter?
No, unless requested to do otherwise, I do not include the background of the photograph in the portrait. The focus is solely on the subject 🙂
What about framing?
You can choose to have the picture framed in which case I will work with a local framer to find the best option and quote for your portrait.
How will I receive my portrait?
I post portraits without frames in a cardboard poster tube by Royal Mail First Class Recorded delivery. For portraits with frames they will be bubble-wrapped and packaged accordingly to keep them protected, and then sent by Royal Mail First Class Recorded post.
How much does it cost?
